Presentations

There are many ways to present and accomplish an excellent presentation. I try to be vocal and appealing. Getting eye contact is the most important way to know you’re getting your word across. I learned that originality can be a good way to start off, by my classmate Mark’s presentation. Eye catching presentations are ways to make it seem interesting and want you to go on about your topic, like Alana and Jaydylee.

Presenting isn’t only about eye catching or colorfulness. It can be great even if your topic is interesting by what you chose and how you describe it. I saw Kiera’s topic and it was interesting to me.
Taylor’s topic was a topic that she described well and found out facts that not too many people knew and made a wonderful presentation. Other than that, I thought the presentations were all interesting in their own ways. The projects made me think why I didn’t make one.

Two Goals

livelaughlove.jpg            I have two types of goals in my life. One goal is my school goal, which is to keep striving for the best grades I can get. My second goal is my life goal, which is to just enjoy life at its fullest. I have worked on achieving these goals since I first thought of them, in 7th grade. Up to now I still work hard on trying to accomplish them.

My school goal is something I’ve tried to put up to, and actually seems to be working. Ever since I was young I would try to do well in school. I chose this to be my number one goal in school because I think it is something everyone should do. This goal kind of connects to my life goal because trying to do well in school and being happy about it just means I’m living my life at its fullest.

My life goal is to live life at its fullest. It just means to go on with life and just have fun, but to do good at the same time. I have worked on this goal because I noticed that just having fun can lead you to a great childhood, which helps in the outcome of your life later. By watching what other people go through has taught me all this.

I think my life is just turning out to be a life that strives for excellence and having fun with it. I have hosen the time to sit out and brainstorm on something I plan to do with my life; and goals are just something to help me along the way.

6th Grade and Now

school-is-cool.jpg            My years in middle school have always changed; whether it was friends or my personality. My 6th grade year would’ve been better if I just acted as myself. Right now, I am just living my life at its fullest. I am comparing and contrasting my 6th grade year and now (8th grade year). How were your years in middle school?

My years in 6th grade and now we’re a bit the same. I have the same language teacher this year; just like 6th grade. I made friends throughout the school year. I use glasses up to now. In the same fashion, my hair is still wavy.

The times I’ve had in these years have changed my personality and style. I’ve had so many things about me change. Starting 6th grade, my looks changed each year. I had very little friends in 6th grade; but on the contrary, I started socializing and making friends. My grades have gotten lower than 6th grade, but at the same time I’m pushing them back up again.

These years have gone by fast, and yet I still seem to be changing. But, I guess that’s just how life is. I like who I have become. I noticed that even people can change in a couple of years or so. My similarities and differences have a lot of impact in my life.

Mark vs. Pathya

Mark’s Shoe & Bag     Did you know that Mark and Pathya are in the same team in school? I am writing about these two because I never knew too much about them…until now! I foundthat they are a lot of similarities and differences. In like matter, how everyone else is. The most obvious thing about them is that Mark is a boy and Pathya is a girl. These two are just people like all of us.

There are somethings aout these two that aren’t quite obvious. Did you know they both have beauty marks on their face? In like fashion, their eyes are both dark brown. They are both smart. Apparently, they do not like sports. They love hanging out with friends…dont you?

Just like I said before people have their similarities and differences. Mark loves to skate, while Pathya likes playing the ukulele. Mark wears glasses. However, Pathya doesn’t wear anything perscripted. Pathya loves the color brown, but Mark likes the color red. Chamoro is what Mark is. On the other hand Pathya is Carolinean. Yes, we are all different in our own ways.

Being able to compare my classmates is something that I found very fun to do. As in, it is something that I like to do when I don’t know much about that topic. Learning how to compare and contrast with words like on the other hand or in like fashion are things that can help me on the long run in life. In like fashion, writing a paper for college or typing my reseme for a job. Mark and Pathya are ver interesting people to me.

I was very interested in finding out about…

Research Essay

1. Introduction

Your thoughts and experiences for those of others on bullying.

Bullying is something that I think people do just because they want attention. Bullying hurts people. I bet if the people that actually bully a person, get bullied one day, they wouldn’t even like it!

II. What is cyber-bullying?

Cyber bullying is when people get bullied through the internet and sometimes through cell phones. According to bullying MSNBC, it means to be taunted and teased through the technical devices. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia says, “Cyber bullying is willful and involves recurring or repeated harm inflicted through the medium of electronic text.” I say that cyber-bullying is just a way to get to people’s emotions and just bring them down through electronics.

III. What are the effects of cyber-bullying?

There are too many effects on cyber-bullying. Cyber-bullying is something that could get people to commit suicide or hurt others, most of the time. It is a really bad thing that just gets people to be physically and emotionally hurt. People can lead to being in major depression when things like this happen.

IV. How can cyber-bullying be prevented?

The only way we can prevent cyber-bullying is to just STOP it or to make laws that involve consequences! Cyber-bullying is a cause that affects the people surrounding us and how they react teaches some people that we should just quit the mean things being done to others. The other way we can prevent this is for people to make sure they know what their children are doing on the internet at all times.

V.  Conclusion

What were the most interesting things you’ve learned about cyber-bullying? Summarize what you wrote in the 2nd to 4th paragraphs.

I think I learned that cyber-bullying is a major conflict with people mostly around my age. Bullying can get us no where if you truly think about it. It’s kind of like saying you should’nt do something if you don’t want it done to you! I’ve learned that a lot can happen within just talking to someone you don’t know. I’m glad people are taking actions and proposing a bill about cyber-bullying. Reading these articles make me think more about taking more responsibility of myself.

Recycling!

What do you know about recycling? My classmates and I know almost the same kinds of things. Recycling saves the environment. There are many types of recycling! Some of my classmates say recycling is good for the environment. Recycling is a good way to   save the Earth’s natural resources. It can also ruin the atmosphere by burning creating global warming. Some of my classmates said people recycle to save or improve the environment.

What do you know that we don’t? Does recycling help prevent global warming? Some of my classmates asked about the different ways to recycle and their benefits. Some of my classmates’ also ask why we don’t recycle more. One of my classmates asked how recycling even started. What else is there about recycling?

I have learned pretty much way more than I expected. We can re-use cooking oil from restaurants. You can have garage/yard sales to get rid of old clothing and old items instead of throwing it away. We can make use of old parts in cars for cars in need! We can also use smaller papers for smaller documents to print our papers. We could also use the front and back side of papers when we print or copy papers.

My handheld experience is quite fascinating. My learning experience was really fun. I think I’ve learned the most about things I can actually grow up to use in every day life. I learned that using a hand held is just like using a computer. The thing that fascinated me the most is that you can out literal documents into the handheld without having to change too much.

Using the handhelds is something I think people should all do or learn about. A handheld can be better experienced by learning at least about one thing everyday. I think of the handhelds as a long-term advantage. Since we, as a class have learned to use modern day technology, we have learned about the devices in the future and have gotten used to them. The handhelds are a an experience I think any student should learn from and adapt.

What are your New Years Resolutions? I have three main resolutions. I plan to get more organized in school. I am trying to loosen up a little on my anger. I am also going to try and get fit.

My main resolution is to get organized in school. Last year I wasn’t doing too well in school. I knew I could’ve done way better. this year I am trying to do every single assignment given to me. I will plan ahead on what to do.

My second resolution is to loosen up on my anger. Last year I would always have a problem with my sister. I am going to learn to keep my opinions to myself because they always get me into trouble.

My third resolution is to get even more fit. I am going to try and get back into swimming. Swimming kept me in pretty good shape. I want to get used to a healthy lifestyle by eating and exercising right. I believe people would be as happy as me if they had a healthier lifestyle.

This is a ear where I notice I want to be a better person because a lot of people are starting over on the new year. I am learing that I want to be a better person. I notice I learning more and more this year so I can be the best I could ever be I plan to get better this year and learn to become a better person.

The Outsiders!

The movie the outsiders was kind of irritant to me. If you aren’t the type of person that likes to watch violence you would say no to this movie as well. I do notlike wtching the parts where they smoke and end up fighting with each other for many reasons. The part I dis-liked the most was when they had the rumble and a lot of them had injuries all over. The only part I likled was when Dallas starts flirting with the girls and refuses to leave them alone until Johnny tells him to back off, I found it rather funny for some reason.
